We Know the impact adapted sport can have…

because we’ve lived it!

Bringing lived and professional experience together….

For decades, Richard’s dedication to disability sport has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Much of his early work was voluntary, driven by a desire to create opportunities for everyone, regardless of ability. His pioneering efforts in disability cricket transformed the sport, helping it grow from grassroots games to a national league and international competitions. Richard’s passion and expertise eventually led him to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), where he helped build a platform for people with disabilities to compete on the world stage.

Richard’s Story

Richard’s story is one of resilience, passion, and possibility. Following an illness leaving him with a disability at 4 years of age, Richard grew up experiencing both the challenges of exclusion and the joy of being part of a team. It was his love of sport that gave him confidence, connection, and purpose—and inspired a lifetime of work breaking down barriers for others. Work which resulted in him be awarded an MBE for his contributions to disability sport in 2019.

Richard believes that sport should never leave anyone behind.

To continue expanding access to adapted sports, he went back to university, earning an MSc in Disability Sport from Worcester in 2024. That same year, he teamed up with Sean and his son, Matt, to launch ZingHub, a platform built to ensure everyone can experience the life-changing benefits of sport.

But Richard’s work isn’t just about competition…

It’s about community, joy, and connection. When he visited his father in a care home, Richard noticed something was missing: meaningful, engaging activities. Determined to make a difference, he invented ClockCricket© in 2017—a simple, innovative game that brought laughter and movement back to the lives of residents. Its success inspired him to think bigger. In 2021 he was joined by Sean Carey who came across Richard whilst working as a community cricket coach. Sean understood Richard’s vision and worked with him as they looked to grow and bring opportunities to more people.

Creating ZingHub

With over a decade of experience working with individuals of all abilities, Matt brings a clinical perspective to ZingHub, ensuring that every activity is grounded in best practices for inclusion and well-being.

Together, Richard, Matt and Sean have built ZingHub as a celebration of what sport can do: foster connection, spark joy, and open doors to possibilities. Whether it’s ClockCricket© in a care home, adaptive curling for a local community, or simply encouraging someone to take their first step towards taking part, ZingHub is here to make sure no one is left on the sidelines.

Growing up as Richard’s son, Matt saw the impact sport could have on people’s lives—and the barriers that kept too many from joining in.

Inspired by his father’s vision, Matt pursued a career in healthcare, becoming a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
